Tom Lane was a man who loved God, his Country, and the 2nd amendment. He was born in Weslaco, Texas in 1948. He moved with his family to Austin in 1962. Graduating from Austin High in 1966 he then joined the Navy to participate in the Vietnam War. During his time stationed in Washington State, he met and Married Florence E. Westrand from British Columbia, Canada. They had only one son together, William F. Lane. After his time in the service, he spent the majority of the seventies traveling the United States, Canada, and Mexico then settling back in Austin, Texas in 1979. For nearly 20 years he worked as an auto mechanic while being very involved with family, Scouting and various local organizations. In the early nineties, he changed careers and had the opportunity to move to Belgium. He and his wife spent several years touring Europe. Upon his return to Texas and excelling with his work, sadness had struck. He learned his wife had stage four cancer. We lost Flo in the fall of 2009. After this Tom decided he wanted to go back to the country and spend the rest of his life enjoying what he did as a young boy; farming and livestock. He moved outside the Clifton area to start living off the land. Tom was able to find love again in the arms of Linda Thiele. They hit it off and married in early 2014. He spent the rest of his life tending to the farm and sharing the love between them until his departure from this earth on March 20, 2024.
