Wilma Jean Johnson

Wilma Jean Johnson, 86, of Clifton passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Clifton Funeral Home in Clifton, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Clifton Memorial Park.

Jean was born on March 3, 1939, in Colorado City, Texas, to Harry Edwin (Buck) Clifton and Elca Beatrice Hindman Clifton Lee. She was a graduate of Loraine High School and married Roy Reece Johnson on March 2, 1956, in Loraine, Texas. After 35 years of marriage, Roy passed away in 1991.

She and Roy moved around frequently for educational and job opportunities. They settled down and raised their family in Rankin, Texas, where Roy taught high school science, and Jean was the high school secretary. After several more moves, they landed in Spur, Texas. Jean retired after 14 years as the secretary for Spur Elementary.

Jean moved to Clifton, Texas, in 2015, where her daughter lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings, her husband, Roy, and a son, Tommy Rex Johnson, of Grand Coteau, LA.

She is survived by three children, and two children-in-law that she loved and claimed as her own - Bobby Don Johnson and wife Lisa of Baldwin, LA, Tamara Johnson of Granbury, and Gwen Parker and husband Todd of Clifton, Texas.

She was the beloved grandmother of nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and will be missed by all.
