With hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Wanda Jean Sadler Sedberry, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and beloved member of our community. Wanda peacefully entered eternal rest on the 6th of July 2025 at the age of 73, at home surrounded by the love of her family.
Wanda was born on the 10th of March 1952 to the late Jimmie Sadler and Annie Mae Walker Sadler in the city of Clifton,Texas of Bosque County. For 52 beautiful years, she shared a life of love and commitment with her husband, Jerry Wayne Sedberry, Sr. Together, they built not just a home, but a legacy of faith, family, and friendship that has left a lasting mark on all who knew them. From this union, two sons were born: Jerry Sedberry, Jr. and Daniel Wade Sedberry.
Wanda’s love for God was the guiding light of her life. Her faith in Jesus Christ was not only deeply personal but also openly shared through the way she lived, spoke, and served others. She had a quiet yet unwavering trust in God’s promises, and her life reflected the grace and peace that comes from walking closely with the Lord. Wanda spent time daily in prayer and Scripture, and her devotion inspired those around her to seek a deeper relationship with Christ. Whether through a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a faithful act of service, she made it known that her hope and strength were always found in the Lord.
Wanda was a woman of grace, strength, discernment, and quiet wisdom. Wanda was a very private person and had a no nonsense attitude, and at times she could be very stubborn with her convictions. She made connections with people when she traveled. And for the people that knew her she was very funny with a great sense of humor. She poured herself into the lives of those around her. Whether she was tending to her family, encouraging a neighbor, or serving in her church and community, she did so with humility and joy. Her home was a place of welcome, and her life a reflection of steady love and unwavering faith. Wanda was someone who lived life with joy in her heart and a twinkle in her eye. She had a loving spirit and a fierce loyalty to her family. If you knew Wanda, you knew she had a quiet strength, a deep faith, and a fun-loving soul. And when it came to enjoying the simple pleasures in life — Wanda had that mastered.
Wanda attended Clifton Elementary and Clifton High School. Wanda held several jobs throughout her early life, each one shaping her in different ways. But it was later in life that she found her true calling — becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Nursing wasn’t just a career for Wanda; it was a reflection of her heart. She cared deeply for others, and through her work, she brought comfort, compassion, and dignity to those in need. It was never too late for her to pursue her purpose — and she did it with grace and dedication.
One of her favorite pastimes was playing Spades with her sisters. And let me tell you — those games were not for the faint of heart! If you ever sat at that table, you knew Wanda came to win. There was laughter, competition, maybe a little friendly trash talk, but always love. Those games weren’t just cards — they were memories in the making.
She also enjoyed watching golf and tennis. Whether it was Tiger on the green or Serena on the court, Wanda followed the game with real interest — always impressed by their skill and focus. It wasn’t about just passing time; she truly appreciated the discipline and beauty of those sports.
And then there were the casinos and game rooms. Oh yes — Wanda knew how to have fun! She loved the excitement, the buzz of possibility, and the occasional lucky streak. She didn’t go wild, but she went to enjoy herself — and always came back with a story and a few new friends.
But one thing many people might not have known about Wanda was her love for country music. It wasn’t always loud or flashy — just a sweet melody, heartfelt lyrics, and a rhythm that somehow matched the pace of her heart. Whether it was a classic tune or a modern hit, country music spoke to her in a way that was personal and comforting.
Wanda was full of life. She laughed often, loved deeply, and lived faithfully. Her presence made holidays brighter, ordinary days warmer, and her absence now — much heavier. But in our hearts, her legacy continues.
So as we remember Wanda today, let us honor her by living with the same joy she carried: by laughing a little louder, playing a few more hands of cards, listening to a song that brings back a memory, and above all, loving our family like she did — with a full heart and unwavering devotion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Sedberry, Sr. her parents, Jimmie and Annie Mae Sadler. Sisters: Mary Davenport, Laverne Ballard, Margaret Tweedle, Joyce Crawford, baby girl Virginia. Brothers: John Wayne Sadler, Noel Sadler and baby boy Jonathan.
