Maria Consuela Coronado, born on August 14, 1937, in Staples, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2025. A kind-hearted soul who dedicated her early years to babysitting many children in the community, Maria was always eager to lend a hand to anyone in need. Although her formal education ended after the third grade, as she had to work in the cotton fields, her life was rich with experiences and contributions to those around her.
In 1958, she married Silviano Coronado, and together they created a loving home. They lived in Seguin, Big Spring, and Meridian before settling in Clifton in 1973, where they became part of the community. Sadly, Silviano passed away in 1982, leaving behind a legacy of love and family.
Maria was known for her delightful cooking, particularly her famous flour tortillas and tamales, which were beloved by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching "The Young and the Restless," engaging in conversations with friends, and going to garage sales.
One of Maria's proudest accomplishments was serving as a translator for her community, a testament to her dedication and willingness to help others. She was an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she made lasting connections and friendships.
Maria is survived by her three children: Juanita Villalpando and her husband Jesus, Louis Coronado, and Silvia Coronado. She cherished her grandchildren, including Jessie Villalpando and his wife Jennifer, along with their children Evan, Maya, and Ally; Mario Villalpando; Rafael Villalpando and his children Jaxon, Mia Bella, and Mateo; and Andrea Villalpando; Nicky Alvarez, Julia Villalpando and her companion Lorenzo Galindo, and their children Jaelyn Resendiz, Madalyn Leyo, Evelyn Galindo, and Elijah Galindo; and Guillermo Villapando, Jr. Her siblings, Felis Banda, Dominga Tristan, Matias Davila, Manuel Davila, Daniel Davila, Rey Davila, Ester Davila, Minerva Nieto, and Oralia Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Silviano Coronado, as well as family members including Frank Tagle, Ismael Davila, Guadalupe Betancourt, Maria Amador, Josefina Tristan, and Jose R. Davila.
Maria’s memory will be honored at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton, Texas. A Rosary service will take place on August 14, 2025, at 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the joyful spirit she brought into the lives of so many.
