Johnnie Berger

Johnnie Lee Berger, 74, of Clifton, Texas, passed away on July 16, 2026.

Johnnie was born on January 26, 1952, in Clifton, Texas, to Erwin and Sophia Berger. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Coryell City and grew up in Clifton, where he attended local schools.

Johnnie worked at Lacy Food – Turkey Farms before spending more than 35 years with Bosque County Precinct 4.

Johnnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, and making people laugh. He appreciated the simple things in life and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his sister, Marsha Johnson; nieces, Chlorisa Harris, Jennifer Berger, and Dee Nop; nephews, Jackie Bolling and Randy Bolling; his best friend, Molly; and many great-nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Sophia Berger; his brothers, Bobby Berger and Steve Berger; his sister, Margie Bolling; his brother-in-law, Harold Johnson; and his sister-in-law, Jan Berger.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Clifton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clifton Volunteer Fire Department or BARK.
