Jimmie Edward Perry

August 31, 1935 — January 21, 2026

Jimmie Edward Perry, a beloved father and cherished husband, passed away on January 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and laughter that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Born on August 31, 1935, Jimmie grew up to become not only a devoted family man but also a distinguished court reporter at the Dallas County Criminal Court, serving with dedication and excellence for 35 years.

A graduate of Adamson High School in 1953, Jimmie's thirst for knowledge led him to Southern Methodist University (SMU), where he pursued a degree in Biology, graduating in 1958. His academic pursuits were matched by his passion for life, characterized by an infectious sense of humor that made him the "class clown" in any gathering. His kind-hearted nature shone brightest in his role as a father. With unwavering support, he encouraged his children to chase their dreams and embrace their desires. He was a protective father, instilling values of kindness and perseverance.

Jimmie's love for the outdoors was a significant part of his life, a passion he shared with his family. He cherished moments spent fishing daily, often casting his line on the serene waters of Lake Texoma, even on Christmas Day. Hunting was another joy for Jimmie, especially deer, quail, and doves, where he relished the thrill of the chase with his son, John, and grandsons, Mason and Nolan. A treasured memory etched in time is that special day in a high fence when too many bucks tempted him, leading to a rare moment of lost composure—a testament to his spirited character and love for adventure.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Leland Perry and Lennie Sanders Perry Adams, and his beloved daughter, Renee Dyan Perry. He leaves behind his wife, Amarillis Perry, and his son, John Edward Perry, who carries forward the values and love that Jim instilled in him. As we gather to remember Jimmie Edward Perry, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with laughter, love, and boundless memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
