Jackie Faye Lawson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on January 17, 1946, Jackie grew up in Dallas, where she graduated from South Oak Cliff High School. In 1970, she moved to Laguna Park, where she would go on to leave her mark on the community.
Jackie was renowned for her caring spirit and her unwavering support for everyone around her. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of many, always eager to share a laugh and create fond memories. Over two decades, she dedicated her time and effort to the West Shore Fire Department, serving her community with pride and commitment. Her passion for gardening was evident as she enjoyed spending time in her yard, nurturing plants and creating a beautiful environment.
In addition to her devotion to the community, Jackie took great joy in caring for numerous cats and loved watching the ships come in through the fishing channel in Port Aransas. She was a devoted mother and engaged grandmother, often taking groups of children to the movies, football games, and various events, ensuring that they enjoyed every moment of their childhoods.
Jackie made many remarkable life accomplishments throughout her journey, among which was her marriage to her beloved husband, Don Lawson, on June 4, 1965, in Dallas. Together, they raised two daughters, Kimbra Atkinson and Kelli Lawson Jones, who continued to embody Jackie’s spirit of love and kindness.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Don Lawson; her daughters, Kimbra Atkinson and Kelli Jones and her husband, Aaron; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Atkinson and wife, Delanie, Jake Atkinson, and his wife, Braxton; and her great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kayleigh, Brantly, and Halen. She is also survived by her cousin, Dona O'Dell, and her “adopted” daughter, Stevie Alvarez.
Jackie’s celebration of life will be held at her home in Clifton, Texas, on November 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the incredible impact she had on all those who were fortunate to know her.
