Esther Gladys Thiele

Esther Gladys Thiele, 83, of Clifton passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Clifton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Clifton Funeral Home. Burial at Valley Mills Cemetery.

Esther was born in the Womack Community on Feb. 12, 1933 to Richard and Sophie Hennig. She has two brothers, Calvert Hennig and John Hennig. She married Joe Thiele on July 24, 1954. To this union, they had six children. They lived in the Womack area until the passing of Joe, then she moved to Clifton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thiele; parents, Richard and Sophie Hennig; son-in-law, Charlie Durrett; grandchild, Junior Ponce; daughter-in-law, Diana Thiele.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristy Durrett of Clifton; sons, Joseph Thiele and wife Jo of Midlothian, Richard Thiele and wife Alma of Clifton, Douglas Thiele of Clifton, Jodie Thiele of Clifton, Bruce Thiele of Clifton; brothers, John Hennig and wife Patsy of Hillsboro, Calvert Hennig and wife Pearl of Gardnerdale; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
