Darrell A. Kleypas, who resided in Laguna Park, passed away May 26,2015 in Providence Hospital in Waco at the age of 73. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Clifton Funeral Home followed by visitation and viewing until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, May 29, 2015, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton. Burial will follow at Smith Bend/Coon Creek Cemetery, near Laguna Park.
Darrell was born to Eugene and Elva (Geistman) Kleypas in Burlington, Texas and raised in Baytown, Texas. He was the fourth of six children. Darrell graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in chemical engineering. He retired from Occidental in 1998.
Darrell married Mary Helen Grimm on September 1, 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Elva Kleypas, two brothers William and Charles Kleypas, and a sister Jeannette Richards.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Regina Kleypas and their children Alistair and Phillip; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Lata Kleypas; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Carl Roy and their children Corbin and Brenna; and stepsons, Keith and Walter Grimm and stepdaughter, Kathleen Mosley; a brother, Thomas Kleypas and wife, Joan; sister, Marilyn Ryan and husband, Jim; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Woods.
Darrell's joyful smile, love of life, faith in God, and openness made him beloved by all who knew him. He will be missed. May God bless and keep him.
