Dale Allan Lancaster, born on July 10, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. He graduated from Permian High School in 1967 and went on to serve our country during the Vietnam era, embodying a spirit of dedication and service. Dale was a true jack of all trades, known for his ability to tackle any project that came his way.
A member of the VFW in Odessa, he found great pride in his military service. Dale was a kind and loving individual, who loved to share laughter with those around him. He was known for his playful spirit, often delighting others with jokes and stories. His love for the Dallas Cowboys was well-known and often brought friends and family together during game days.
Dale enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He loved playing pool, softball, and fishing, as well as spending quality time outdoors. Barbecuing meals for his family was a cherished activity, highlighting his love for gatherings and spending time with those he held dear.
On May 18, 1984, Dale married his beloved wife, Joan Emmel, in Odessa, Texas. Together, they built a wonderful life enriched by their love and devotion to each other. Dale is survived by his wife Joan Lancaster; son Terry Lancaster; daughter Rachel Carney and her husband, Steven Carney; son Billy Church and his wife, Danna Church; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Pam Hodnett and her husband, Darrel, along with two nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his son Chad Lancaster, as well as his parents, Billy and Dolores Lancaster. He was of the Baptist faith and embraced values that centered around love, kindness, and family.
A graveside service to honor Dale's life will take place on August 13, 2025, at Central Texas Veteran's State Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, starting at 10:00 AM. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of laughter and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
