Carla Anne Quinters, born on September 30, 1958, in Lubbock, Texas, passed away on October 9, 2025. She was raised in Coahoma, Texas, where she lived until 1982 before moving to Waco, Texas, and eventually settling in Valley Mills, Texas, in 1985.
Carla devoted her life to education, working as a high school teacher who taught English and Spanish at various institutions including Valley Mills ISD, Meridian ISD, and Marlin ISD. She concluded her working career at the VA, making a difference in the lives of many students throughout her time in education. A proud graduate of Angelo State University, Carla held a bachelor’s degree and later earned a master’s degree in education from Walden University. Her dedication to teaching was further demonstrated as she took on the role of head of the yearbook committee for many years.
Carla was known for her tenacious spirit, generous heart, and witty character. Her passions extended beyond the classroom; she enjoyed sewing, crafting, playing the piano, and cooking. These hobbies allowed her to express her creativity and share joy with those around her.
Family meant everything to Carla, and she cherished the moments spent with her daughter Nora and granddaughter Emma. Her love for them was apparent in everything she did.
A dedicated member of Zion United Church at Womack, Carla's faith was an important part of her life.
Carla is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Quinters, whom she married in Coahoma, Texas, in 1982.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Zion United Church, Womack. Burial will follow at Bismarck Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
