Billy J. Atwood, 71, of Clifton, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Clifton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Clifton Funeral Home (12:00-12:45).

Billy was born on August 13, 1954, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He spent his early years in Marble Falls, where he attended school and built a foundation of cherished memories. He retired after many years of serving as a foreman in the wood mill industry.

Billy was a dedicated family man, known for being a great father and husband. His loving spirit extended beyond his immediate family, as he was also a good friend to those he liked. Billy will be fondly remembered as a wonderful grandfather to the children of his stepson, Jairo Vega, who brought him much joy.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Paula Atwood; mother, Laverne Ray; and his brother, Darvin Lucas; his son, Billy Atwood Jr and wife Halley; his daughter, Stacey Atwood; his grandchildren, Rachel Cordell and Johnnie Cordell; his great-grandson, Brayden Zonyk.

Billy had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed watching football, which were essential parts of his personality. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

Billy is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kristy Atwood, and his aunt, Lila Covington. His legacy of love, friendship, and family will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
