Bertha Ponce Tremillo

Bertha Ponce Tremillo, 81, of Clifton, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2026, at Clifton Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park.

Bertha Ponce Tremillo was born on February 4th, 1945, in Guillermo Prieto, Durango, Mexico to Domitilo Ponce and Luz Arreola. She was 17 when she married Tomas Tremillo and was a proudly devoted homemaker and a loving mother to their 4 children: Antonio Samuel, Juana Maria Guadalupe, Maria Felix, and Rafaela. 

She was widowed in 1972 and assumed the role of mother, father, and sole provider. She immigrated to the United States in 1976, and she took on various jobs around Los Angeles, California while living in places such as East Los Angeles and Montebello, California. She moved to Clifton, Texas, in 1985 where she decided to spend the rest of her life with her family. Bertha was the matriarch of the family, dedicated her entire life to focusing on supporting her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

Bertha is preceded in death by her husband Tomas Tremillo, Daughter Maria Felix Tremillo Hernandez, parents Domitilo Ponce and Luz Arreola, and her siblings Ismael Ponce and Sofia Ponce. 

She is survived by her sisters Teresa Ponce and Domitila Ponce, her children Antonio Samuel Tremillo, Juana Maria Guadalupe Nieto and her husband Angel Nieto, and Rafaela Tremillo Magdaleno, and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Bertha Ponce Tremillo nació el 4 de febrero de 1945 en Guillermo Prieto, Durango, México, hija de Domitilo Ponce y Luz Arreola. Tenía 17 años cuando se casó con Tomás Tremillo y era una orgullosa y devota ama de casa y una madre amorosa de sus 4 hijos Antonio Samuel, Juana María Guadalupe, María Félix y Rafaela. 

Enviudó en 1972 y asumió el papel de madre, padre y proveedora única. Ella emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1976, y asumió varios trabajos alrededor de Los Ángeles, California, mientras vivía en lugares como East Los Ángeles y Montebello, California. Se mudó a Clifton, Texas, en 1985, donde decidió pasar el resto de su vida con su familia. Bertha era la matriarca de la familia, dedicó toda su vida a centrarse en mantener a sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos. 

Bertha es precedida en la muerte por su esposo Tomás Tremillo, su hija María Félix Tremillo Hernández, sus padres Domitilo Ponce y Luz Arreola, y sus hermanos Ismael Ponce y Sofía Ponce. 

Le sobreviven sus hermanas Teresa Ponce y Domitila Ponce, sus hijos Antonio Samuel Tremillo, Juana María Guadalupe Nieto y su esposo Ángel Nieto, y Rafaela Tremillo Magdaleno, y sus muchos nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos.
