Arthur (A.M.) Anderson, Jr., passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on April 19, 1942, and spent many years as a resident of Cleburne, Texas, where he was known and cherished by all who had the good fortune to know him.

A.M. attended school in Cranfills Gap, Texas, and graduated in 1960, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and hard work. He built a distinguished career as a master electrician and was deeply proud of his craft, ultimately retiring after a long and rewarding tenure in his field. His commitment to excellence and his willingness to help others set an enduring example for those who followed in his footsteps.

He married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Spitzer, on July 26, 1977, in Humble, Texas. Together, they created a warm and loving home, filling it with laughter, shared joys, and steadfast devotion for nearly half a century.

Family was at the very heart of A.M.’s life. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family fiercely. Surviving him are his beloved wife, Gloria Jean Anderson; his children, Gary Anderson and wife Virginia, Michael Anderson and wife Kendra, Bert Cook, and Annette Phillips and husband Steve. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Austen Phillips and spouse Malloy, Justen Phillips and spouse Sarah, Morgan Phillips, Mallory Henslee, Logan Anderson, and Mitchell Anderson. A.M. was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Lachlan Phillips, Reese Phillips, Hazel Phillips, Raylen Phillips, Ellane Phillips, and Kaitlen Henslee.

He is preceded in death by his son Terry Wayne Anderson; his father, Arthur Anderson, Sr.; his mother, Olena Knudson Anderson; his brother, Jimmy Anderson; and his sisters Jean Reeder, Mary Humes, and Virginia Allen. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who loved them, just as A.M.’s memory will endure.

Known for his kindness, A.M. touched countless lives with his gentle spirit and his readiness to offer a helping hand or a warm smile. He was deeply devoted in his faith and drew comfort and strength from his beliefs, finding solace in the promise of being in the arms of Jesus.

A.M.’s passions included fishing, especially fly fishing, hunting, farming, traveling, and camping. Whether casting a line into tranquil waters, working the earth, or exploring the world with his beautiful wife, he found joy in nature and the simple pleasures of life.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on July 31, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Clifton Funeral Home, located at 303 S Avenue F, Clifton, TX 76634. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the same location. A.M. will be laid to rest at Clifton Cemetery, 1000 South Avenue G, Clifton, TX 76634.
