Alvildia Mae (Casey) Leake

Alvildia Mae (Casey) Leake, born May 27, 1943, passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born and raised in Clifton, Texas, Alvildia attended Clifton School and remained deeply connected to the place and people that shaped her life. In 1962, she married Oscar Meador and they had 12 children. She was a cook for most of her life and was especially known for how much she enjoyed cooking. In the everyday work of caring for others, she expressed the steady love that defined her life.

Alvildia was a gentle and humble woman who never complained. She was quiet and content, a devoted caretaker who helped raise many of her grandchildren, and she also had a hardheaded streak that those who loved her knew well. She found happiness in fishing, playing bingo, and watching crime shows such as Law & Order and Criminal Minds. Above all else, she loved her family, and she especially looked forward to the family reunion camping trip they shared nearly every year.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Rhodes, and her husband, Randy; daughter, Susan Meador Harden, and her husband, Gene; and her son, O.J. Meador, and his wife, Carla. Alvildia is also survived by her brothers, Albert “Butch” Casey and Dave Casey, and by her sister, Wilma Worley.

Her memory will also be cherished by her 21 grandchildren: Alana Farr, William Jones, Marty Crawford, Gary Meador, Misty Meador, Jason Meador, Hubert Meador, David Meador, Dennis Meador, Richard Meador, Robert Meador, Laurie Meador-Jones, Ronnie Meador II, James Meador, Crystal Leining, Oscar Meador, Chaz Meador, James Hardin, Christopher Rhodes, Makayla Meador, and Ahliah Vestel. The love she gave so freely to her family, especially to the grandchildren she helped raise, will remain a lasting part of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Casey, and her mother, Minnie Mae Casey; by her sons, Darrell Meador, Larry Meador, Ronnie Meador, Marvin Meador, Dale “Bubba” Meador, Danny Wayne Meador, and James Lynn Meador, as well as two infant sons; by her sister, Sharon Cox; by her granddaughter, Susie Turner; by her great-grandchildren, Melissa Stradder-Hill and Robert Turner; and by Oscar Meador, the father of her children.

A funeral service for Alvildia Mae (Casey) Leake will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 16, 2026, at Clifton Fundamental Baptist Church, 403 Pecan St., Clifton, Texas 76634. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park. 

Alvildia will be remembered for her quiet strength, her caring heart, and the deep love she carried for her family throughout her life. Her presence will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
