While attending school in Mosheim, Fern met her future husband.  Fern and Lowell Earl Curlee were united in matrimony on February 12th, 1955 at First Baptist Church in Clifton.  The couple would have celebrated 65 years of marriage next year in February 2020.   The family grew as their four children were born:  Robert Dyer, Randy Lowell, Julie Renee, and JoBeth.

Fern also gave of her time at the Clifton Food Bank and was on the First Baptist Church Benevolence Committee for many years.

When the Curlee kids were young, Fern taught Sunday School in various departments and helped out with GAs and RAs.

Fern enjoyed traveling and visiting places all over the United States.   Multiple trips to Colorado and Nashville with husband Earl were favorites, and she also enjoyed family trips to the beach at Galveston and Surfside.   Fern had fun on “girls trips” to Las Vegas, New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle.
