Margaret Lucille Poston

Margaret Lucille Herrin Poston, 86, passed away on June 4th 2023, in Weatherford, TX.

Margaret was born on December 11, 1936, in Richland, TX, to the late Alva Herrin and Bessie Pearl Grant Herrin.  She grew up around Richland and Corsicana, TX and graduated from Corsicana High School in 1956.  Margaret worked at a Dallas gas company before she became a full time wife, mother and jack of all trades.

Margaret met the love of her life, William Travis Poston, Jr., in Mosheim, TX while visiting his sister Carole Wood.  Shortly after their meeting, they were married in Corsicana, TX on January 16, 1960 and were married for 63 years, when William passed away in 2023.  Margaret and William had two daughters, April Annette Nowlain and Deborah June Poston Allen. 

Margaret is survived by her daughters, April and Deborah, her granddaughters, Kristy Nowlain (Peter Flinn), Krista Toten, Rachel Nowlain-Sisk (Clint), Lindsey Matthews (Sam), ShelbieRae Kelly (Kevin), Courtney Toten, and Kaci Nowlain (Joshua Sharp), great grandchildren, Peightyn Reed, Evelyn and Aubry Nowlain-Sisk, and Emerson Matthews, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lynn Herrin, Geneva Jones, Weldon Herrin, Annie Lee Trogdon, Alva Herrin, Jr., and Wanda Ruth Robinson.  She was the most loving, caring  wife and mother who was wholly devoted to her family.  All will remember her as a very generous, kind, loving, wonderful woman. 

Margaret was very talented in many areas including, cooking and gardening, sewing, hanging wallpaper, and tackling any task set before her.  Her bubbly personality was contagious to all who came in contact with her.  And her ability to make lasting memories for everyone she cared for was nothing short of a gift.  She will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 11:00am-12:00pm at Clifton Funeral Home in Clifton, TX, followed by a graveside service at 1:00pm at the Poston family cemetery in Mosheim, TX.
