Elinor Joan Hinson, 90, passed away in Woodway, Texas on January 26, 2021.

Elinor was born on January 28, 1930 in Brownwood, Texas to Laurice and Hazel Richardson. She graduated from Brownwood High School and attended Texas State Technical Institute of Waco and received her certification in Food Service Management.

On September 3, 1947. She married Joe Clyde Hinson in Brownwood. Joe passed away in 1999. They had three children, Sherrie Jay and husband, Carl, Joe D. Hinson, and Chuck Hinson and wife, Alice.

Joan was actively involved in the Baptist Church of Midland, Lamesa, and Clifton. She loved working with the youth as a Girl Scout leader, Girl’s Auxiliary, and Sunday School teacher. When she moved to Cypress, she became a member of Cypress United Methodist Church near her home.

She and her husband, Joe were active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Ladies Auxiliary on the local and district level.

She has 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
