Billy Joe Jeanes

Billy Joe Jeanes, age 92, of Mansfield, Texas passed March 31, 2023, in Mansfield, Texas. Bill was born May 3, 1931 in Clifton, Texas to Arthur Lee Jeanes and Emma Hulda Ott. He spent his childhood on the Ott Farm, and in 1948 moved to Dallas where he began a 45-year career in aerospace manufacturing. He spent 35 years at Vought Corp and 10 years with Lockheed Martin. In retirement, Bill built his own log cabin retreat in East Texas where he enjoyed the small town life frequenting the local dance halls and playing dominoes with friends. He enjoyed traveling and cruising in his senior years with his long-time companion, Miss Betty. Bill was a beloved father and Papaw. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Lee Jeanes, mother, Emma Hulda Ott, step-father Gus Alexander, and two grand-children, Tyler Francois Jeanes and Grant Colton Vardeman. Bill is survived by his brother Rick Jeanes, son Gary Jeanes, daughter Terri Day, and daughter Sherri Vardeman and Cole Vardeman; five grand-children: Jessica Jeanes Tielli, Ashley Day Holbrooks, Chad Jeanes, Conner Vardeman, Garrett Vardeman; and five great-grandchildren.
