Betty Ruth Light, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 27, 2023, at 73 years old, in her hometown of Clifton, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. Betty was born on February 1, 1950.
Betty met the love of her life, Wayne, on a blind date in 1967, married June 7, 1968, and welcomed her only child, Michelle July 2, 1970. She led an incredible life full of love and kindness. She was known for her cooking skills and compassionate personality that touched everyone she met. She was a dedicated member of Searsville Country Church.
Betty’s fondest memories included stock show season with her grandsons, fishing on a sunny day, serving her community by cleaning houses for over 20 years, and volunteering at the local food pantry. In addition, Betty enjoyed participating in the chuckwagon cook-off, sewing, flowers, cooking as if she were Betty Crocker and fellowshipping.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Searsville Country Church in Valley Mills, Texas, with Pastor John Kennedy and Lynn Parks presiding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruby Bean; Brothers, James Bean and Kenneth Bean. Betty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne Light; sister, Pat Perkins; twin brother Rudy and wife, Rachel; Daughter Michelle and husband, Chris; Grandsons Ty and wife, Hayley, and Wesley.
