Patricia (Fay) Pate

Patricia (Patty) Fay Pate, 73, of Clifton passed away Monday, January 6, 2020. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran  Church on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Clifton, Texas at 11:00 A.M., with a reception to follow.

Patty was born on October 4, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the only daughter, one of three children, of Clint and Thelma Keys Fay of Houston, Texas. Patty was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Patty graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas in 1964 and attended the University of Texas Austin where she studied mathematics and education. She was a high school math teacher and enjoyed helping students understand the intricacies of math. She married Dr. Bart Pate March 5, 1966 and had two sons, John (Clint) Pate and Nick Pate. Patty was extremely proud of her sons and was close with both of them and their families.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Thelma Keys Fay.

She is survived by her sons, Clint and his daughters, Amanda, Ashley, and Allison, and Nick, his wife Irina, and their children, Anthony and Alexandra; her brother, Mike and his wife, Teri, their sons, Doug and Matt and their families; her brother, Kenny and his wife, Tess, their son, Ryan and his family. She left behind loving family and friends.

She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
