Era Janell Cox

Era Janell (Dollins) Cox, 84, of Clifton passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at Goodall Witcher Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Clifton Funeral Home with Pastor Biran Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday,  January 18, 2020 at Clifton Funeral Home.

Era was born August 27, 1935, in Turnersville to Olan and Lurlene Dollins. She loved to play basketball and even lettered in it while in school. She was a graduate of Clifton High School. In 1952, she met Bobby Cox, they were united in marriage in 1955. While the couple lived in Irving, Janelle was a keyboard operator at the City Hall of Irving. They eventually found their way back to Bosque County where she was a caregiver to the elderly. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, she also loved to fish and was a big Nascar fan.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Jerry Don Cox and wife, Delfina of Seven Points, TX; daughter, Terri Lynn Cox and David Nixon of Quinlan, TX; brother, Oen Dell Dollins and wife, Diane of Gatesville, TX; five grandchildren, Yare Fain and wife, Christina of Rowlette, TX, Summer Fain Makerney and husband, Preston of Grandbury, TX, Elizabeth Gross and husband, Michael of Kemp, Jerry Don Cox, II and wife Amber of Seven Points, TX, and Russell Nixon of Quinlan, TX; 11 great-grandchildren, Rene Cox, Michael Gross, Joshua Gross, Bradley Cox, Savanah Cox, Jerry Don Cox, III, Hope Marie Fain, Elija Yare Fain, Peyton Lee Makerney, Sadie Lynn Makerney, and Bailey Makerney. 

Memorials may be made to the Turnersville Cemetery Association.
