William Brown Obituary

William Boyce (Bill) Brown, 91, left this earthly world to be with his Heavenly Father on July 1, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Tabernacle in Turnersville, TX. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the Tabernacle. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery.

William Boyce (Bill) Brown was born to Francis Marion Brown and Elva Sexton Kent Brown in Joines, North Carolina, on July 30, 1927. He spent his childhood years in Traphill and Stone Mountain, North Carolina.

Bill joined the Army in August, 1945. He served in World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in the Korean War. He retired after 21 years of military service in January, 1966.

Following his military service, Bill worked at the Texas Department of Corrections for 24 years. After his retirement from TDC, he started a rural trash service.

Bill married Coleta Wallace on March 8, 1952 in Turnersville, Texas. They were married 67 years and blessed with four children.

He is survived by his wife, Coleta Brown; daughter, Debra and Steve; son, Gary and Kim; one grandson, Shawn Conlin and Julie; granddaughters, Kelli Mayon and Mitch and Morgan Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jalen and Alex.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaVera; brother, Paul Brown; and sons, Alan Brown and Roger Lee Brown.
